About Akdan
What does Akdan Consultancy do?
Akdan Consultancy is a management and financial advisory firm based in Ankara since 1995. We work in six areas: asset and wealth management, company valuation, project finance, management consulting, sustainability and green finance, and financial restructuring.
When was Akdan founded, and by whom?
Akdan was founded in Ankara in 1995 by Nilüfer Arıak. A graduate of METU in Economics and Statistics, she moved into consulting after twenty years in finance that led to a general manager role, and she still leads the firm today.
Which organisations do you work with?
Public institutions, family businesses, holding companies, universities and international organisations. A selection of the references gathered over more than thirty years appears on the home page.
Who is on the team?
Akdan is led by its founder, Nilüfer Arıak, and on every project works with specialists from the disciplines the job requires. Bringing the right expertise in valuation, financing, law and sustainability to the right table is the point of that structure.
How we work
How does an engagement start?
With a first meeting, where we clarify the need together. A review of the current situation follows: interviews with management and a reading of processes and reports. Priorities are then agreed together and an implementation timetable is drawn up.
How are fees and timelines set?
Scope, timetable and fee are set for each engagement individually and agreed at the first meeting. Duration depends on the size of the organisation and how ready its data is; there is no pre-published standard package.
Who makes the decisions?
The decision is the organisation’s at every stage. We design the solution with you, not despite you; in bank and creditor negotiations we prepare the proposals, projections and presentations and run the meetings together with you.
Does the work end with the report?
No. The report is a starting point; we follow implementation and confirm the outcome together. Monitoring after financial close in project finance, and tracking operational improvements in restructuring, are part of that approach.
Services
When is a company valuation needed?
In merger and acquisition talks, when taking in or parting from a partner, in share transfers, capital increases and litigation. Discounted cash flow, market multiples and comparable transactions are applied together and the results are cross-checked.
Which investments suit project finance?
Investments that generate their own cash flow: energy, production facilities, real estate development and infrastructure. It begins with a feasibility study and financial model; loans, incentives and funds are structured, bank and investor talks are conducted, and financial close is reached.
Do you support green finance and ESG reporting?
Yes. We draw up the sustainability roadmap, match it with green loans, bonds and grant sources, and set up the ESG reporting infrastructure. Financing carbon and energy transition projects is part of the same scope.
Are investment incentives and grants considered?
Yes. Investment incentives, development agency support and international funds that fit the nature of the project are treated as part of the financing structure.
